My work is grounded in the belief that you are an expert on your own life, and that you have within you the capacity to move towards positive change.

I have a humanistic, person-centred foundation to my approach where the therapeutic relationship itself is at the heart of the movement towards growth. This means that I place emphasis on building a warm, non-judgemental, empathic and honest counselling relationship with you.

The Integrative element of my training means that though I have a person-centred backbone to my way of working, I can also draw on a range of approaches to suit your needs and wishes. We may look at early life and past experiences, and how they continue to impact you and your ways of being. I have a particular interest in how the younger parts of ourselves can show up in our lives, and how counselling can help these parts to be heard.

We may, if you are drawn to it, work outside in nature or walk and talk in the field or up on Dartmoor. We could draw on creative and body focused approaches, mindfulness or breath work. For me, counselling is about sensitively responding to what you bring and working in a way that feels most helpful for you in your movement towards living life from your true and full self.
